Research shows that certain words and kind of language can appeal to or deter people of particular gender. There are also various phrases that are often used by or used to describe women rather than men, and vice versa. Various tools for detecting gendered language, particular in context of job advertisements, exist.
The purpose of this project is to take the insights from existing tools as a starting point, and propose a new method for detection and correction of gendered language in essays.
NLP knowledge is required for this project.
