For the school's Year in Industry programme, students are asked to select two IT professional skills that they want to work on during their placement. For their selected skills, students are asked to generate the necessary forms at https://sfia-selector.cardiff.ac.uk This system has been coded as a previous final year project, and is in need of a bit of maintenance. In particular, we would like the form layout to be changed, some minor errors to be corrected and some soft skills to be added. We also want have the possibility to easily update the information when a new SFIA version becomes available (ideally, we should simply be able to upload new data). Additionally (if time allows) we would like the system be ready for if a Welsh version of SFIA is published. It is important to realize that he plan is to actually use the outcome of this project for running the 2021/2022 placement modules, so the resulting system has to be highly reliable (i.e. there needs to be a thorough testing plan). Also, there needs to be good documentation, as we might need to do some future maintenance as well. Altogether, this project is suitable for someone looking to develop skills and experience in commercial-grade software maintenance.
