This report presents the development and implementation of a Minecraft Education Edition world designed to teach students about the dangers and applications of radiation, aligning with the new 2022 Welsh curriculum for Science and Technology. The project is aimed to create an engaging and effective learning experience by leveraging Minecraft’s immersive nature. The report outlines the objectives of the project, including gaining knowledge about teaching in conjunction with the new curriculum, designing an aligned Minecraft world, building interactive activities, creating supporting educational materials, and evaluating the project’s effectiveness. The report highlights the success of the project in achieving its aims and objectives and demonstrates how Minecraft can be utilised as an effective educational tool. The integration of Minecraft promotes critical thinking, problem solving, and cross curricular skills, while aligning with the four purposes of curriculum design. The report also explores game-based learning, its significant benefits for students, and its potential to shape the future of education.
